The new TSCHEIN 6-seat revolving chairlift
The fifth new aerial lift since 2008 is now being constructed in the Eggen Valley ski area beneath the Rosengarten.
Right on time for the next winter season, the new Tschein 6-seat chairlift is opening at the Carezza ski area, thus connecting the zone to the southeast of the Moseralm, Paolina, and Latemar with the Laurin slopes in the northwest of the Dolomit Superski area in the Eggen Valley. The new facility has a total length of almost 2,000 meters, replaces the former 3-seat chairlift, and guarantees a convenient ascent to the mighty Tschein mountain in just six minutes. This lift is approx. 710 meters longer and starts 550 meters farther to the south, in the direction of the Moseralm. The new mountain station is located about 80 meters higher than the former station. Thus, skiers will have more slope to ski beneath the Cologne Hut towards the Moseralm. The "Tschein" slope, known as a very sunny and attractive slope, is thus enhanced in value: The in part red and in part blue routes offer something for everyone: A steep downhill run for practiced skiers, and easier alternative routes for less-experienced winter sport enthusiasts. Together with the increased appeal of the "Tschein" slope, the "Moser" slope at the Moseralm ski lift is also being equipped with a Family Fun Park. In the future, this practice and fun slope will accommodate the special needs of children and freestyle beginners. Here, children and adults can take their first steps into the freestyle world on several lines. The set-up consists of a series of kickers, boxes, and whoops.
For ski clubs and training groups, a special training slope will be set up at the Laurin III chairlift starting in December.
The new aerial lift together with the modifications to the artificial snow equipment, the prolongation of the slope, and the enhancement represent total investments amounting to about EURO 7.2 million. After the new construction of the Hubertus aerial tram, the Pra di Tori chairlift, and the Le Pope ski lift in the year 2008 as well as the completion of the Welschnofen gondola aerial lift in 2013, the new Tschein chairlift is already the fifth new aerial lift built in the Carezza Dolomiti Superski area since the entrepreneur Georg Eisath joined six years ago.
The connection to the neighboring Fassa Valley and to Soraga and Moena will be planned next year and built in 2016. The replacement of the Franzin lift together with a new slope is also planned for 2015. South Tyrol's sunniest ski area is continuing to invest considerable sums in modern facilities and an appealing variety of ski slope attractions.
The total of 41 km of slope beneath the Rosengarten and Latemar are very easy to reach: In just 15 minutes, you can get to the aerial tram in the center of Welschnofen from north Bozen / Bolzano.
