The mountain village Tires on the Rosengarten is located approx. 25 km east from Bolzano on an altitude of 1.028 m a.s.l. and with a breath taking view over the world natural heritage UNESCO Dolomites. It is at the hearth of the natural park Sciliar-Catinaccio. Part of the sunny mountain village Tires on the south of Monte Cavone are: San Cypriano (1.071 m), Bagni di Lavina Bianca (1.200m) which has to owe its name the mineral spring, and Aica di Fiè with its well distributed yards between 600 and 1.200 m a.s.l.
Skiers and snowboarders can reach the ski area Carezza, which has been elected from the ski guide ADAC Top ski and climbing area 2010, from Tires with a public transport every half hour in just 18 minutes
